Summer 2002 - in Portland & Newport, Oregon

just arrived in Double Tree Hotel, Portland   (July 13th.) inside the MAX lightrail (serupa komuter di KL) on the way to the zoo) visiting Portland zoo (2nd day in Portland) Sea otter 3A watching the seal Penguin image07.jpg Amirul amazed with the bat Watching the crocodiles polar bear watching lunch time 4 Mr. Polar image12.jpg posing with the locomotive train in the zoo beautiful butterflies; but, Amirah was scared to death of these tiny creatures! down town Portland (sand castle competition) dine out at Indian restaurant 3A patiently waiting 4 dinner Portland court square city tour... in front of Portland Convention Center After a long ride from Portland, arrived in Newport, Oregon - first time to see the Pacific Ocean since we arrived in the US  the majestic pacific ocean in Newport, the other side of this ocean is Malaysia (look at Amirul) it's slightly chilly out there even in mid-summer (see Amirul - dia hairan tengok ombak laut the backgound is simply breath taking with the high cliff & the light house in the distance AAA first time jumpa laut - masih takut dengan ombak the tiny sea dragon at Oregon Coast aquarium Amirah enjoying the sea horses... pretty angel fish 2A inside the dome to get a close look at baby alligator live salmon! delicate jelly fish sturgeon golden seal the diver cleaning the tank - si AA takut dgn diver a school of Chinook  salmon Ameer fff...ish inside the tunnel watching 4 sharks Mr. Sharkie from passages of the deep the shark welcome center- AA in the mouth of Megalodon (an ancient shark)  aquarium play area Ameer was  so restless... so main dulu di playground Tak dapat jumpa real dolphin, so jadilah yg ini Hartfield Marine Science Center near Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport 2A with the submarine touch & feel tide pool Amirul trying to catch the stone fish! (he actually caught that fish) ...back to the aquarium  In the tunnel full of sharks & stingrays Newport bridge Relaxing in the passages of the deep watching hundreds of sharks the aquarium entrance- ready to go north to Washington
